A useful book for the beginning model railroader covering many facets of building your railroad: track, couplers, painting, wiring, tools, benchwork, structures, scentery, signals, and lots more. Amply illustrated.

Great for the beginner model railroading enthusiast. Black and white and color photos, easy to read diagrams, easy to follow instructions. It is comprehensive and covers track planning, benchwork, creative ideas on scenery, assembly, signals, couplers, electric, power packs, zero derailments, track, roadbed, ballast, making structures, etc. Railroading is a great hobby for the Father in your life who's had a set back (ours had a stroke). New hobby new thought processes develop.

my family built an awesome train set using this book and one other I have listed now. The info about scenery and layout was esp. helpful.
