When I initially began reading this book, I was disappointed because I had hoped the author would spend more time recounting his experiences in heaven. (Only a couple of pages are devoted to his description of dying.) I found the middle of the book to be quite boring, and I took a long time to read it and almost didn't finish it for this reason. However, the book really picked up at the end. Don's stories about his recovery, though painful and depressing, were effective at reminding me of all of the things that I tend to take for granted in my daily life. I also really enjoyed reading about how Don turned other people's lives around by sharing his experiences and insights. I recommend this book to anyone who has recently lost a loved one, or who is in the process of recovering from serious injuries. However, I don't recommend this book to someone who is closeminded in the sense that they might become offended by the Christian religious perpective. In some ways, this book reminded me of "Tuesdays With Morrie." If you enjoyed reading "Tuesdays With Morrie," you will probably enjoy this book as well.

Although Dan Piper's heaven experience is beautifully related to the readers in detail, most of the book is to relate his experiences for rehab and how his faith brought him the experiences yet to come. There is a lot written on his depression during rehab, but it all makes sense why that part of his recovery was indeed part of his recovery. It makes sense when you complete the entire book. It can be inspirational to someone or just really bring faith in God back to someone who needs it most now.

Wow. This book recounts what happened to Don Piper while he was "dead" for 90 minutes after grave injury in an auto accident. He vividly recalls, in detail, what he experienced during the hour-and-a-half rescuers worked to resuscitate him. His is truly a glimpse of heaven, told with an incredible eye for detail.

This is probably one of my all time favorite books. It is essentially a beautiful biographical telling of one man's faith and his miraculous return from heaven after he was pronounced dead at the scene of a horrible car accident. I believe this is a must read for all Christians.

The book was an interesting story of one man's experience with heaven, but I really wish it spent more time on that subject. The majority of the book chronicled his recovery process, and I think he did a great job of describing his emotions during the painful processes. I can see how this book would be a great spiritual confirmation or even a story of hope for others, but . . . let's just put it this way: I don't recommend this book for anyone who is a skeptic or cynic when it comes to religion.

Don Piper died on January 18, 1989 while on his way home from a church conference. Although he does go in depth into his visit to Heaven, his book really concentrates on his life after the accident. After experiencing a joyous reunion with deceased relatives he was whisked away to earth with no explanation. Don is a devout Christian and suffers greatly from his banishment in heaven and with the physical pain and recovery from his automobile accident. This is really a story of survival against all odds and it is extremely motivating. When we hear of such adversity striking others we often wonder how they find the grit to survive. By reading Don's story we find that survival is based on a mixture of hope, faith and sheer determination. Read this book, you won't be disappointed

I was really disappointed in this book. I wanted to read more descriptions and images of heaven. There was only a couple of page devoted to it. Most of the book was about the author's recovery from his accident. Granted, he has been able to help people thru his ordeal, but the book was an overall disappointment.

Easy read and well written. I liked his description of heaven the best. What follows is a journey that I would not wish on anyone. It reminded me that God allows His people to experience pain and all kinds of human weaknesses. Yet, He goes through it with us and provides for us.

True story of a man in the wrong place at the wrong time, his account of Heaven while he was dead for 90 minutes, and the long, long road to his recovery.

Very detail description of Rev. Don Piper's ordeal with life, death, Heaven, and the very long road to recovery. Got a bit boring in parts, but overall a good book.

The concept of the book is unique. However, I was rather disappointed with how the book played out and the short description of his heavenly experience. There were parts near the end which were uplifting and inspiring.
Strictly based on the structure of the book, I found it quite repetitive. I finished the book wanting and expecting more.
However, I DID pass this book along to a friend who's mother-in-law had recently passed. Although the book wasn't amazingly entertaining or overwhelmingly moving, the picture in which Don Piper paints his first heavenly encounter was beautiful and peaceful. I would recommend this book to anyone who has lost a loved one or is dealing with personal loss. It can put ones mind at ease knowing their loved ones are truly in God's care!

I didn't like this at all - he said he wanted to start a church and what better way than to write a "spectacular" story - well, there's nothing new here except a sad story about a family that endured a horrible tragedy. This proves only the power of prayer. Thankfully, he had lots of it - and that's how it should have been marketed - as far as the heaven part - Sorry - I don't believe him

This book helped me tremendously. I was reading it while my father was on hospice and we had a very short amount of time left to spend with him. Reading this book helped me deal with the prospect of losing my dad, and then ultimately help me when he left us to be in heaven. I contstantly think back to various parts of the book to help me cope, and just take a different perspective on life.

This is an interesting read... I know of many people that have read it and felt utterly amazed, and "converted". Is it odd that I see nothing out of the normal in this book? It's an account of something that I believe to happen on a regular basis. And somehow doesn't seem so out of the ordinary. It's a fast read. I often wonder if anyone is convinced from utter disbelief to otherwise... I'll have to take a peak at the other reviews!

This was a one sitting read book for me. It was a definite eye-opener to a couple of major things we take for granted. You should not question things that happen to you in life because God always has a plan for you. You may not understand things at the time of events and you must trust in God as His servant. The pastor that came upon the wreckage of the accident that prayed over Don's lifeless body, had to let the faith of God lead him to what He had instructed. Don lived so that he might help other people both in his ministry and just by helping other accident victims with their recovery. Our lives can change in the blink of an eye. Embrace your life and your family and live each day to the fullest...with God all things are possible.

If you've ever been concerned about the existence of Heaven, or if you just want to read an incredible story of recovery, this book is great. Although I'm a Christian, I've always felt scared of death---I'm young, people in my family die young, etc. But after reading Don Piper's description of Heaven, I feel a great deal of relief. His story is amazing in other ways, too---his struggles in healing his body and his heart, the impact he's had on others. It's a wonderful book!

This is a very uplifting book, especially if you are still processing the loss of a loved one or contemplating your own departure from this world and into the next. In it we see that many people who those with a very strict Christian faith would have never expected to see in Heaven, may well be there indeed. I often wondered about my grandfather who for most of his life was an agnostic, and who never outwardly accepted Christ. However, he did say one prayer that I heard when my grandmother was nearing her passage. After reading this book I am sure that he was indeed acceptable and pleasing, and he is with the Master.

On the way home from a conference, Don Piper's car was crushed by a semi that crossed into his lane. Medical personnel said he died instantly. While his body lay lifeless inside the ruins of his car, Piper experienced the glories of heaven, awed by its beauty and music.
Ninety minutes after the wreck, while a minister prayed for him, Piper miraculously returned to life on earth with only the memory of inexpressible heavenly bliss. His faith in God was severely tested as he faced an uncertain and grueling recovery. Now he shares his life-changing story.

This book isn't actually about Don's 90 Minutes in Heaven, and in fact little time is spent describing his time there. As I read, I grieved wondering WHY God sent him back. By the end I was praising and knew why he was sent back--he has led many to Christ in this time and who knows how many of those have led others? He has an incredibly inspiring and honest story to share and I recommend it for all believers. i now know that all of my believing loved ones who've gone on went straight to Christ!

I thought this was a good book, but it was more focused on the recovery than his 90 minutes in heaven. There are one or two chapters that discuss this experience, but his recovery is very painful and somewhat discouraging for the majority of the story. If you are expecting an ethereal heaven experience, just read the first chapter. I appreciated that he didn't sugar coat his experience- he was discouraged and depressed and he admits this fact. The end of the book made it a worthwile read and I did like the book, but it wasn't quite what I expected.

I couldn't agree with Nichole S. more. I was a bit disapointed there was so very little time spent about the "90 Minutes in Heaven" experience and the bulk of the book was about the painful recovery Don faced in the aftermath of his accident but towards the end it really all came together. Excellent book. While some reviews I've read have criticized that little time in the book is devoted to the author's description of heaven, the most important and encouraging facet of the book to me was the evidence of the power of prayer. When you think things are hopeless, powerful and faithful prayer can change things. I'm encouraged about the author's description of heaven, but even more so that when it seemed all hope was gone, one mans faithful prayer moved God to act in a dying/dead mans favor. And when we can't pray for ourselves, the prayers of the righteous in our behalf are powerful and effective.

I did find the book to be repetitive at times on some points, but sometimes this was helpful in reinforcing some information that I had glossed over or not fully understood the first time. Overall, I found Pipers story inspiring and faith building not so much on the point that heaven exists and that it is a wonderful place, but that God is faithful and hears my prayers in the here and now.

This book is a must read. I found his account of heaven refreshing and there is something that will ring inside of everyone. Some have given negative reviews because they thought the book was supposed to be completely about his time in heaven, which it is not. But the story of his recovery, and the impact he's had on others over the years is riveting and needs to be read. It tells a story that you can impact lives for God in many ways, and that your life story is not over until the Creator tells you it is. It gives us hope for those really hard days.

Don's experiences in heaven were a very small portion of the book. While I appreciate the fact that he recounted the negative attitude he had during his recovery, and the way he turned it around to be a positive experience, there was entirely too much time spent describing his injuries, rehab and description of the medical procedures. This book did not turn out to be what I had hoped it would be.

reviewed 90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death and Life on
I had never heard of Don Piper or his story until a co-worker mentioned him. I have since learned that Don Piper's story is quite well-know and the 90 Minutes in Heaven was actually on the best-seller list. As I said, this was all unbeknownst to me and I considered it an advantage in objectively reviewing the book. However, I also must confess that upon hearing that Piper's story was that he died and went to heaven and then came back to earth, I was skeptical. So I did read this book from a skeptical viewpoint. With that being said, there are two main surprises that I encountered in reading this book. First, I was surprised how powerful Piper's testimony is. I am referring to the testimony of his accident and subsequent recovery process, not including his trip to heaven. Piper's accident was an extremely bad one and his lengthy recovery was no doubt difficult. To hear of Piper's physical and emotional pains and how he overcame them is definitely inspiring. I was also moved by the awesome testimony of Piper's wife's faithfulness. She sacrificed much for her husband. Also to hear of all the people who helped the Piper family out during Don's recovery was moving. On this level I enjoyed this book very much.

The second surprise that I encountered was that the title of the book, 90 Minutes in Heaven, is very misleading. Piper spends one chapter out of 18 describing his time in heaven. I expected the trip to heaven to make up the bulk of the book. Instead as I mentioned the book is mostly about Piper's recovery from his horrible accident. Therefore due to the irrelevance of the title, I can only surmise as to why the book was titled as it is. I have concluded that this was either a publisher or author's decision to generate more interest in the book. For example, which do you think people would be more apt to pick up off the shelf, a book that is marketed as âa true story of life and deathâ (cover's actual byline) or a book whose selling point is âa man was in a bad car accident and he recoveredâ.

I must say that my first critique of the book is that it did not deal with the subject of Piper's trip to heaven like I anticipated. However, since this is what the book's focus was aimed at, I will share my thoughts on it. As I mentioned, I was skeptical of Piper's claim to visit heaven when I first heard of it. After reading this book, unfortunately I cannot say that I have been swayed much in my opinion. On page 47, Piper says that when he was being loaded on the ambulance he remembers thinking, âSomething terrible has happened here, and I think it's happened to me.â This statement confuses me because Piper admits that he did not know what was happening. Did he know that he had died? If not, then how did he know that he had experience heaven? Couldn't it have been a dream or hallucination? On page 57 Piper says, âSometimes I'd wake up and see people standing in front of my bed and would wonder, Am I really here or am I just imagining this?â Here Piper freely admits that in the state he was in, he wasn't sure where the line was between reality and imagination. Finally on page 78 Piper states, âI never doubted or questioned whether my trip to heaven had been real. That never troubled me. Everything had been so vivid and real. I couldn't possibly deny it.â An experience seeming very vivid and realistic is not qualifying for its reality. Many dreams and hallucinations seem very vivid and real. Instead, any questionable Christian experience should be measured by the scriptures. The author never attempts to do this. Actually Piper's description of heaven was extremely disappointing in that it was overly man-centered. His experience focused more on his friends and family and personal pleasure than Christ. The scriptures describe heaven as a place where Christ will be exalted for all eternity. In fact this is one of my biggest problems with this book. There is hardly any mention of scripture to back up any of Piper's claims. Also he doesn't feel the need to quote any scripture when testifying of his recovery. There are passages from the bible at the beginning of every chapter, but these are almost all taken out of their correct context and used instead to lead into each of Piper's stories.

My next complaint is that on page 33 Piper says, âI get frustrated describing what heaven was like, because I can't begin to put into words what it looked like, sounded like, and felt like.â Then why write this book? But Piper does later give several reasons why he felt it was important to write this book. One reason Piper gives is that his story is encouraging to people. Piper relays a story of the first time he told anyone about his experience of dying and going to heaven. The first person Piper tells is his close friend David Gentiles. Gentiles proceeds to tell Piper that Piper is supposed to share his story. On page 126 Gentiles says âIs it possible that God took you to heaven and brought you back for you to share what happened to you? Don't you realize what a powerful encouragement you can be to others?â I struggle understanding how the fact that Piper claims he went to heaven is an encouragement. Heaven is real whether he went or not, whether he shares his story or not. This is like the Passion of the Christ film. Many people commented after seeing the movie, ânow I realize what Christ did for me!â If you never realized what Christ did for you before, what did your faith consist of? If you have to have Piper tell you his story to know that heaven really exists, what does your faith consist of? Gentiles does not stop there. Gentiles makes Piper promises that Piper will tell the story. Gentiles tells Piper to make a covenant between them. The following is found on page 127. Piper: âWhat kind of covenant.â Gentiles: âPick two people you trust. Just tell them a little of your experience and gauge their response.â He went on to explain that if they thought I was crazy or that I had hallucinated, then I would never have to speak about it again. âBut if they rejoice with you and if they urge you to tell them more, I want you to take this as a signâa sign that God wants you to talk about those ninety minutes you spend in heavenâ This is terrible reasoning to do anything, let alone something that you feel could possibly be the will of the Father. What may be even more disturbing about this âcovenantâ between Gentiles and Piper is that both men are ministers of the Gospel! They do not have any excuse for the poor theology exhibited by this conversation.

Another reason that Piper gives for sharing his testimony and story of heaven is found on page 128. Piper says, âI'm writing about what happened because my story seems to mean so much to people for many different reasons. For example, when I speak to any large crowd, at least one person will be present who has recently lost a loved on and needs assurance of that person's destination.â How would Piper's experience assure anyone of anyone else's destination? Piper claims to have gone to heaven and while there, he saw many people he knew. This in no way assures that someone else went to heaven. Actually I am reminded of Luke 16:19-31 and the story of Lazarus and the rich man.
19 "There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 "The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.' 25 "But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.' 27 "He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.' 29 "Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.' 30 " 'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.' 31 "He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead."
I believe that this passage, especially verse 31, actually contradicts Piper's âministry of assurance.â

Next, Piper says that another reason he feels compelled to tell the story is that he wants âas many people as possibly to go to heaven.â Of course no one would argue that there is anything wrong with this type of thinking. It is great that Piper, or any believer for that matter, would be led to share their faith, however I feel that Piper misses an important theological truth in his reasoning. On pages130-131 Piper relays a story in which he concludes, âWe're willing to save someone in a visible crisis, but a lot of folks are in spiritual crisis and we don't say a word about how they can get out of it.â I interpret this as being Arminian in thought and therefore, not biblical. The comparison that a person would save another person physically if they could, so why don't we try to save people eternally is a poor example because we cannot save people in an eternal sense. Another place where Piper draws on Arminian/Palagian thought can be found on page196 where he says âGoing to heaven that January morning wasn't my choice. The only choice in all of this is that one day I turned to Jesus Christ and accepted him as my Savior.â Again, this is not a scripturally sound statement and as a minister, I hold Piper accountable for comments such as these.

In conclusion, I found 90 Minutes in Heaven to be unscriptural at worst and misleading at best. I did thoroughly enjoy Piper's testimony of his overcoming tragedy and maintaining his faith in the face of unimaginable adversity. However even this became redundant at times, as nearly every chapter mentioned repeatedly how badly Piper hurt and how depressed he had become. Of course Piper would draw this all together with his chosen title by stating continually that he missed heaven and it was a better place than he was in. I would have liked to see the book focus more upon the testimony of Piper overcoming through God's grace and less of Piper's longing for heaven.

While the premise of Piper's book - 90 Minutes in Heaven - is quite interesting, the story beyond the accident does become somewhat tedious and repetitive. I did admire Piper's candid recounting of his feelings and actions as he recuperated; he doesn't sugar-coat or over-dramatize, just tells it like it was. Not a bad read, especially if you're feeling sorry for yourself.

As recently losing a loved one, this book gives a very delightful insight of Heaven. I was really pleased to know that Don and the people he encountered during his short journey were not worried about the ones they left behind. My biggest fear is that my loved one was there alone and wondering about her family. Don helped ease my mind. Great book! Very moving and spiritual!

The first three chapters detail his trip to Heaven, and it's worth reading for those three amazing chapters. He talks about being greeted by a welcoming committee of relatives and friends who'd died and about how the most amazing thing to him was the sound--all the music and singing. I often give this book as a gift to those who've lost a loved one. It comforted me after my mom's death.

A very fascinating story. No matter how you imagine heaven might be, you will find this account intriguing. Much of the book is given over to his medical situation and recovery, but you will find that you are empathetic and rooting for him along the way.

This book is short, but not necessarily a quick read.

I love this book! While the description of Don's experience in heaven is brief, it is a wonderful reference for him (and me) as he recounts his lengthy, grueling, painful journey through recovery over the next couple of years (he will never recover completely). As someone who has experienced a lifetime of chronic pain, I found Don's testimony particularly relevant for my own experience. The spiritual message of his book is that our earthly lives are intentional: God has a plan for our lives, no matter what twists and turns life may take. Life here is temporary, and the promise of heaven for the believer makes this life not just tolerable but joyful and meaningful even in the midst of pain and suffering. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is suffering or has suffered a major injury, recovery, surgery or long term illness. Very inspirational!

Very inspirational autobiography of Don Piper, an ordained minister, who overcomes his own personal tradegy to inspire others around him.

Both he and his car were crushed in a terrible accident. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene. His story begins with the retelling of his Heavenly experience while his body lay lifeless in his crushed car. He is returned to life 90 minutes later as his friend prays over his body. Don Piper also tells of his long physical and spiritual recovery. He retells of his struggle to find the reason God sent him back to earth and how upon it's discovery he is motivated to uplift those around him. A very wonderful story!

This was a really good book. I would have preferred it not be as repetitive and that it would have moved in a more chronological order. It got kind of confusing when some events were described more than once at different places. Overall, I enjoyed the book though. It was maybe not exactly how I expected it to be, but good all the same.

I agree with another person, this book I thought was going to more about a description of heaven. The book was hard to read at times, because of all the suffering he did to recover. It is a good read to have the perspective of not taking your life for granted and living it well.

A pastor I once knew had preached about Don Pipers story and had on several occasions recommended this book to me. I have ever since then wanted to read Don Pipers story.
Today while rummaging through some old books at a sale I reached out and picked this book from all the others. I was ecstatic. I went home and began reading it even before the book I had just received in the mail from paperback. The real message in this book for me is the power of prayer! Dons story was so riveting but for me the real miracles of this story are in the answers to prayers. While his recounting the recovery was a good idea for those who have had this kind of horrific experience they did not much for me. I did find it interesting but not overly interesting. I agree with other reviews that in some parts of the book in the middle it is a little dry and boring for the average reader but I expect it is not for someone who has endured similiar pain and suffering.
Prayer....its real....so is heaven. Im glad we have them both. I rate this book a 3 for its story content and outreach. It could have been a 5 if written differently with more emotion and heart tugging sentiment...just the thing most guys hate but woman love.

It was a very good book. His story of survival is amazing, and the story of his recovery is heart wrenching. His description of heaven is beautiful, although I found it a bit too close to the cliche. I have no doubt that he believes his experience, but the fact that his description is exactly what a Baptist preacher would envision makes me think this is some type of dream or vision rather than a true trip to heaven. The book is also a bit too preachy to be inspirational for me.

As he is driving home from a minister's conference, Baptist minister Don Piper collides with a semi-truck that crosses into his lane. He is pronounced dead at the scene. For the next 90 minutes, Piper experiences heaven where he is greeted by those who had influenced him spiritually. He hears beautiful music and feels true peace.
Back on earth, a passing minister who had also been at the conference is led to pray for Don even though he knows the man is dead. Piper miraculously comes back to life and the bliss of heaven is replaced by a long and painful recovery.

I was pretty disappointed with this book. The pain and agony of this person's injuries drags on and on. Perhaps this was cathartic for the writer, but after several chapters of reading of his misery, I decided not to finish the book. I was looking for an uplifting story about the afterlife and a glimpse of heaven, which isn't really the focus of the book, despite the title.

This book was amazing, it mad me feel better about life after death. I knew that there was no doubt that my mother went to Heaven when she passed away, she was a very Spiritual women. I understand why she called on Jesus so much, I know that she wasn't wearied about her after life. I didn't know at the time I had finished this book but some days after my brother and I were talking about death and just out of the blue I said that I'm not scared of dieing, my brother said he was and that he didn't want to die. I told him that I didn't want to die either, I just wasn't scared of the thought of dieing. I was some what surprised at what I said but then thought of the book I had read and realized that was why I was not scared. The thought of death use to scare me but not after reading this book. Don't misunderstand me I'm not ready for death I love life and thank God for letting me see another beautiful day, I'm just at peace about that subject. ( If I had to rate this book between 1-10 I would give it a 10 )

This book is based on a TRUE story with newspaper articles to confirm it and a Google search that does as well. I personally found the book very compelling and renews ones thoughts on life after death and the power of true God-Fearing prayers. It made me think many times of what would had happened if his friend had not been allowed by the policeman to go pray for his friend, even tho' considered [and actually was pronounced] dead. I also wondered how many times chances have been missed to pray for those in wrecks who are dying or are considered dead, would they have came back from the dead if only someone had prayed for them. The story is well-written and moves along at a fast clip, keeping your interest, you will find yourself stopping/starting but not because of the writing but the content of what you're reading....it really makes one stop and think things clearer and in trying to make sense also arrives the ability to be able to put yourself in his shoes when the accident happens and gives fodder for why we should alway be on guard...."for satan is like a lion constantly seeking whom he can devour". After reading this book it makes you wonder about what if? And if, would YOU be ready? Great read for book clubs. Starts you out with a LOT of questions but in the end gives you LOTS of answers as well.

I'd had this book on my "to-read" list for awhile, mostly given its popularity. Yes, I am a Christian, but I tend to be pretty picky about my Xtian reads, preferring more theological thinkers than fluffy light reads. So did the book fall into the latter of the two categories? Absolutely, without a doubt - but I say that knowing my own skeptic cynicism shines brightly through. I'd place it in the same category as "Heaven is for Reals", one that I'd much prefer to have read solely about the heaven experience, and not the aftermath of his journey. Piper is not a prolific writer, but his easy-reading style made it the perfect fit for 1 am feedings with a newborn.

This is actually a pretty good book and an easy read. The theme of this story is about a Christian who survives a car crash that nearly kills him. The suthor often travels to local churches to tell about this crash and how he saw heaven. If you are a Christian you will probably enjoy this book. Others will think that because his brain was putting him into a coma due to all the pain he was in due to truma. Even if it's true, why not?

Don was a average Christian man, coming home from a convention when his small car was crushed by a 18 wheeler.
The EMT's checked for pulse and life signs and found none.
Along comes another minister, who insisted to pray for this dead man.
The ministers prays, and led by the Spirit of God, speaks life into the dead body...he starts singing "What a friend we have in Jesus", and the corpse comes to life singing also.
The EMT's are harder to convince but they eventually come at the minister's prodding and all hell breaks loose. The dead man is back to life.
The rest of the tale is Don's experiance with experimantal bone growing devices and the intense pain and depression that he had.
A very real and honest account of a Christian struggling in day to day lie with cronic pain.
