Stuart MacBride has done a marvelous job of creating a series of interesting characters in the employ of the Aberdeen Police Department. He's told their stories in several full-length novels. "The 45% Hangover" is set on the day of the Scotland Independence Referendum. DCI Steel makes no secret of her pro-Independence opinion or rather, obsession. Another strong effort by Stuart MacBride although even his weaker material is still better than many/most other writers out there in my opinion.
RATING: 4 1/2 stars, rounded up to 5 stars where 1/2 stars are not permitted.
