4 Days in Eternity Author:Wayne F.A. Marentette 4 Days in Eternity(r) is a startling account of an odyssey that is within every human being's reach and yet few have lived to relate. And at the beginning of a new millennium, Marentette's revelations bring a message of hope to mankind. On May 4, 1979 Marentette, a recently registered student at the University of Western Ontario, walked into a ... more »hotel restaurant in London, Ontario, ordered a drink and then walked toward the exit. About to get back into his car he saw a young couple arguing. When the man smashed a bottle across the girl's face, Marentette tried to intervene to prevent him from attacking her further. After a brief struggle the man ran back to his car, having fractured Marentette's jaw. "I could see him wipe his bloodied suit sleeve across his face as he spun around and accelerated. I tried to move out of the range of the approaching vehicle though I was feeling quite faint. Before my knees had hit the ground I was struck by the car. I remember losing my breath suddenly and then my right cheek was forced into the hood of the car just slightly above the front grill. Airborne and helpless, my limbs bounced mercilessly upon the pavement. It seemed that a frightful silence had seized the night about me. Verging on uncon-sciousness, I heard the roar of the engine and recognized the sound of the car winding into re-verse. Vaguely, I remember turning my head to the left as the rear tires pressed upon and over my chest." During the next four days, while the body of Wayne Marentette lay comatose in hospital in London, Ontario, Marentette himself - his sentient being, his soul, call it what you will - embarked on a spiritual initiation which was to dramatically transform his life when he finally emerged from the coma. 4 Days in Eternity(r) recounts in vivid detail the various stages of the afterlife drama as experienced by Marentette, from the judgement phase in which the human soul relives key experiences in his or her past with heightened understanding, to new awareness of the vital role of conscience, and the expansion and evolution of consciousness itself. What is perhaps most extraordinary about the narrative is the sustained level of focused observation that Marentette has brought to bear on the experiences he underwent and the insight he gathered from his transformational experience.« less
