Loved this book. I started reading these out of order, but it doesn't really matter. You really get to know these characters and fall in love with them. Debbie Macomber has done an excellent job with this series.

I'm sure this is in the category of âwomen's fiction,â if there is such a thing. I did not think I would like this book very much, nor the series. However, I found myself swept away by the first book in the series, 16 Lighthouse Road, and went straight to this book after finishing it! I never go from book to book in a series, but read something in between. Not this one! I was so interested and invested in the characters that I wanted to keep going. I'm not a typical romance reader, but while this series and book have romantic relationships, it doesn't feel like a âromanceâ novel. It is very well written and quite compelling! I really have enjoyed getting to know the characters!

2nd in the series.
Wonderful book abt several people in one town (Cedar Cove, Washington) just a ferry ride away from Seattle. All the characters have secrets, pasts, mysteries, troubles, etc. This series explores more of each of them in each book - esp. focusing on the residents of the title address.
"Macomber is known for honest portrayals of ordinary women...this cements her position as an icon of the genre." -Publishers Weekly

I was really looking forward to this book because Grace is one of my favorite characters but the book overall was a disappointment. I loved Grace's story but that was about it.
Maryellen's treatment of Jon was atrocious, all because of a man from her past that hurt her. Come one. She is 35. It seemed ridiculous for her to be stuck on one bad relationship.
Seth and Justine's story was quite sweet but it was quite minor.
Although I didn't like Rosie or Zach I do appreciate Macomber representing two people who are both at fault for the end of a relationship but fail to see it. I couldn't side with either because they both played a part which I do like. But the story wasn't very interesting.
My main complaint about this book was that there are a lot of unanswered questions and open ends. It's like this was just a stepping stone book with no real ending. I don't mind when one or two things are left open ended but it seemed nothing was resolve at all. I ended up asking myself why I read this in the first place when I got to the last page.

This is a good series for taking breaks between other series. Reading it is restful and the characters become like old friends you know. It really is like listening to some good gossip. I don't know if one book alone would be that satisfying but starting from the beginning and working your way through soothes and entertains.

Book Description
Grace Sherman
204 Rosewood Lane
Cedar Cove, Washington
Dear Reader,
If you've been to Cedar Cove before we've probably met. You can usually, find me either at home or at the public library, where I work. I've lived in this town all my life and raised two daughters here. But my husband and I -- well, about six months ago, he disappeared. Just . . . disappeared. Where's Dan? Why did he go? Who's he with? Will I ever find out?
My hometown, my family and friends, bring me comfort during this difficult time. Comfort and a sense of shelter. I'm continually reminded that life can and does go on. For instance, everyone's been discussing weddings and babies lately. Justine -- the only daughter of my best friend, Olivia Lockhart -- impulsively got married a little while ago. My own daughter Kelly recently had, a baby. Unfortunately, she refuses to accept that Dan might not return to see his first grandchild. My older daughter, Maryellen, is more realistic. I think she's seeing a new man, but for some reason she won't tell me who it is.
Then there's Jack, who's been pursuing a romance with Olivia, and his son, Eric, and Eric's girlfriend, Shelly (I think she's pregnant), and Zach and Rosemary Cox, whose marriage is reputedly on the skids and . . . Well, just come on over and we'll talk!

Book #2 in the Cedar Cove Series by Debbie Macomber. This builds on book one. Great Story
Great book, part of the Cedar Cove series.
Another Debbie Maccomber entertaining tale of a group of interwoven lives of friends and family who live in a small town near Seattle. I like these books as bedtime reading, as they contain no violence or gore.

A great read to just disapper into a story. What small towns are all about.
Book 2 from Cedar Cove and I just ordered the third. These are people that you care for and wish that you could live in their small town.
I love this series. Great read!

I loved this book, 2nd in the series. Light reading.
Friends and family in the pleasant town of Cedar Cove. Grace Sherman's husband just disappeared one day with no explanation.
Nice and light read.
The second in the "Cedar Cove" books by Debbie Macomber. I love these books, can hardly wait until the next one comes out everytime.
This is a fantastic series.
This is the second book in Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series. I find her books very readable and relaxing. She is very good at exploring human character in an entertaining way.
Another book in the Cedar Cove series. Grace Sherman's husband has disappeared, and she's struggling to cope.
Great reading - Debbie has done a fantastic job with this series. I can hardly wait to read the next book!
Another great book . This series is excellent. Waiting for the next book in this series to come out.
Loved it. Well on my way to continuing the entire series.
Typical Macomber. Usual characters, pleasant if not exciting reading.
This was such a good book and an easy read. I feel bad for Dan Sherman. I cant believe what happened with him. He was hurting so bad and it was haunting him. :( Then Mary Ellen ending up pregnant. She was my favorite character. Hoping she ends up with Jon Bowman.
Excellent 2nd book in the Cedar Cove series! The characters are so real, seems like the reader is a part of the community. The story unfolds as it should, and there is also some mystery and intrigue.
such a good book! love this series!
Wonderful series - you really don't need to begin with the first book, 16 Lighthouse Road, which is the first in Debbie's Cedar Cove series of books, even though this is the second one. Each book fills the reader in with all what has happened previously.
I have read each one in this series except the last one, which I am anxiously awaiting to read. I'm in the middle of 1105 Yakima Street.
Highly recommend this series and any of Debbie's books.

Another win for Macomber. I stumbled upon this series by accident and immediately fell in love. I love the town and "spending time with our friends" in Cedar Cave.
Got so caught up in their lives almost forgot I had one.
This book is excellent. Looking forward to reading the next one.
love it
I love how the stories interconnect but also stand alone.I've read everything she's written except the knitting books...I don't knit...LOL
The second book in the cedar cove series-I loved it!!!
Loved this book... I read the whole series and had a hard time putting it down
I just discovered this series of books. I like the small town stories. These books are sweet and humorous. They are quick reads and make for a pleasant evening or two of reading. I have already searched and found three more in the series. If you enjoy cosies the Cedar Cove series is a good bet.
Fantastic story lines! I love all the interconnections and how even the prior stories come back
Second in the series....awesome! I just love this series! It is like a soap opera!
This is the second book in the cove series and while the story contuines with the same people from the first story the 16 lighthouse in this installment we are introduced to a few more of cedar coves residents. Again this offers all of real life drama and events and the more I read the more I feel I know the people of cedar cove!
And the series continues! Who can put them down?! I am onto #3 and can't wait to see what happens next. If you like a book you can't put down I'd start this series for sure.
I loved this book, can hardly wait to read the 3rd one in this series.
D.M. is one of my all time favorite authors and I love this Cedar Cove Series. Way to go Debbie!!! You really feel as though you are part of this town and you feel like these people are your friends. An easy read as all of D.M.'s books are. You'll be anxious to read book 3 at the end of this one. It had me wanting to know more.
the contuing story of Cedar Cove.
Excellent book. I can't put the books in this series down. The characters come to life. Fast and easy read.
2nd book of the Cedar Cove series - it will leave you wanting more!
I really enjoy this series. Another great hit from Debbie.
First in a series about Cedar Cove, Washington. A story of a woman that works in the library in Cedar Cove whose husband suddenly disappears one day. She has grown children and the story is about her life as well as theirs and the friends that they share in the town of Cedar Cove.
Love this series!
Another Cedar Grove Book that takes you into small town life. A woman dealing with life after divorce.
Book Two in the Cedar Cove series. Where did Dan go?
@nd in cdear cove series
Life goes on in the small coastal town of Cedar Cove, Wash., as real life does everywhere with small dramas and personal epiphanies in this sedate slice-of-life drama. The last time readers visited Cedar Cove in Macomber's 16 Lighthouse Road, family court judge Olivia Lockhart had refused to grant a divorce to a young couple trying to come to terms with the loss of their infant daughter. This time around, Olivia has problems of her own; her ex-husband wants her back, which makes her on-again, off-again relationship with newspaper editor Jack Griffin even rockier. Elsewhere around town, Olivia's daughter finally follows her heart and marries her high school sweetheart instead of the troublemaking older man she'd been dating; Zach and Rose Cox find their marriage falling apart when Rosie begins neglecting her family for volunteer work; and Maryellen Sherman, the manager of the local art gallery, becomes pregnant after a brief affair with an artist. Despite all these goings-on, the book's main focus is librarian Grace Sherman, whose husband of 35 years is still missing after disappearing six months earlier.
JUST LIKE A SOAP OPERA, JUST CAN'T PUT IT DOWN.
A multifaceted tale of romance and deceit, the final installment of Macomber\'s Dakota trilogy oozes with country charm and a strong sence of community.
When I started reading this series, I couldn't wait to get ahold of this one. I was so intrigued by the series of events in the first book that as soon as this arrived, I started reading. The characters in this book are normal everyday people you might know. This is why this series is so great.
Grace has lived in Cedar Grove her whole life. She knows everyone and everyone knows her. He husband just up and leaves one day. Grace's daughter doesn't want to accept that her dad won't be home to see his first grandchild. Then there is Grace's best friend Olivia, who is dating(?) Jack and Jack's son Eric and HIS girlfriend
Shelly...it would be easier to read the book....good reading.
Shelly...it would be easier to read the book....good reading.
Book 2 - Continues where it left off in the first book. You get to find out what happened to some of the characters and the author keeps your interest right into the 3rd book which I just started. Excellent story-lines.
I love the Cedar Cove series.
Can't wait for the next one in series to arrive
2nd book in the Cedar Grove Series. Just as enjoyable as the 1st book. Great characters with nice, normal story lines. Great read!
Book #2 in this series. Again you feel as tho you are right there in "Cedar Cove" Wonderful story line.
Great series of books!
Follows the people of Cedar Cove. Catch up with old friends and meet new people. This is book 2 in the series. Good quick read!
This one was a good as the first one.
I love this author and I enjoyed this book. Hope you do to.
The 2nd in a series about cedar Cove. Babies, babies, and romance. This is a great series.
this is one of a series of 5 so far and all 5 have been wonderful
This is the second book in the Cove series. You really should read 16 Lighthouse Road first to know what is going on!
Another enjoyable Macomber book.
Another good book by Debbie Macomber.
Another veiwpoint from one of the residents of Cedar Cove. This time Grace finds that her husband has just disappeared and no one knows why. Come meet the residents of this close knit community and find out how they help each other thru their crises.
Second in Cedar Cove series. Enjoyed it.
This is the second book in the series by Macomber and it follows along and develops further the characters introduced in the first. They all reside in the fictional town of Cedar Cove and eventually you'll see how their stories all intertwine. It is surprising how quickly you get pulled into this book and these characters - especially if you enjoy 'small town' communities.
Excellent reading, I can hardly wait to read the next one
This is a great series!
This is the second book in the Cedar Cove series - it's rather like reading a soap opera! Great fun and interesting to follow the same characters from book to book.
This book followed the story line from the first one nicely. It added in some new characters and even a few that I think will be followed through in the next book. I enjoyed it.
This is the 5th book in the Cedar Cove Series. Grace's husband Dan disappeared. Her family of two daughters and her friends try to comfort her during this time. Grace it continually reminded that life can and does go on. But Where's Dan? Why did he go? Who's he with? Will she ever find out>

The first few chapters, in which Macomber reacquaints readers with the town and its occupants, may feel sluggish to those familiar with the series, but this smooth yet simplistic offering will claim the reader's attention once the introductions are over.
I love Debbie Macomber and this is a good easy read. The series was a great series.
EXCELLENT second book in a series of five, I couldn't put it down!
Another book in the Cedar Cove series.
Excellant reading book.
Excellant reading book.
I enjoy this series a lot!
Residents of the close-knit community of Cedar Cove, Washington, have always assumed that Grace Sherman, the town librarian, is as demure as she appears - but they couldn't be more wrong. Underneath Grace's demure exterior, is a spine of steel that quickly surfaces when she must face the strange and sudden disappearance of her husband, Dan.
So, Cedar Cove bands together around one of its own, and Grace's family and friends bring great comfort to her during such a difficult time. But Grace is reminded that life can and does move on - and, amid the various weddings and births, and other major life events that occur in Cedar Cove - she must be strong enough to help her family deal with their own confusion and devastation at Dan's absence. However, will Grace's love, devotion, and dedication to her family in the face of such a personal tragedy, ultimately prove sufficient to keep them all together?
I must say that I haven't read that many books by Debbie Macomber before. The Shop on Blossom Street was my first one - and that was on a recommendation from my sister who lives in Australia. I'm usually not that much of a romance fan, but this book was a fast-paced and engaging story that I really enjoyed. Dan's disappearance certainly played an important role in the story - however, the romantic elements of the story weren't overwhelming; which is also something that I appreciated. I give this book a definite A!

Grace Sherman's story
Loved this book! I couldn't put it down. Same core characters and she added more characters to her story. Even if its same stuff different day it was still engaging. Can wait to read #4
