The movie is just like the book! I am a huge fan of the movie so I had to read the book. It was very good but definitely more of a young adult book. I highly recommend it!!

This book basically follows the movie word for word. It wasn't bad because I liked the movie, so I liked the book, but it followed the movie.

This was a really good novelization of a movie adapted from a play. The weirdest moments of the movie were excluded and/or downplayed and it allowed some of the brilliant material to shine through. Of course some of my favorite movie moments were gone as well. Ms. Perky role is toned back down with no Allison Janny to pump it up as is Mr. Chapin's when no David Leisure is there to inflate it. Also gone are some of Michael/David Crumholz's most cringeworthy dialogue moments.

What remains is a light hearted high school story told by the teen-aged characters that live them.

Bravo on a good adaptation!
