I loved this book. I was so engrossed in it that I just couldn't put it down. The only problem I have with it is that, as they are "mysteries", you rarely know what caused the ship to vanish, or "know the ending", so to speak. I have always held a facination for ships and submarines, and to some extent, the unexplained. However, these books can be somewhat boring due to it being about facts. But I feel Richard Winer did a very good job of holding the reader's attention. I would have liked for him to go into more detail on some of the ships and their crew though. I liked that he did not try to push the UFO-Paranormal idea on the ship's disappearances. However, that being said, there are many Ghostly Apparitions to some of the stories. Still, the writed leaves it up to the reader to decide what they feel these might be.
