This was a really good book. From someone who has had a crisis of faith and gone through some of the thngs the characters in the book have i could so totally relate.
Lucia is the older and fatter sister of a very popular Televangelist, who is beautiful and charasmatic.
Her husband Chip, is coming home after working for the ministry and Lucia is going to meet the private jet.
When the jet takes back off, it suddenly veres and crashes. The pilot does not survive, but the two others on board get out.
Sonia, Lucia's sister is badly burned over a 1/3 of her body.
Her face neck and hands are burned badly.
Sonia keeps insisting that her "faith" is going to show a miracle, but slowly she loses grip on reality, when God does not "perform" in the way she thinks He aught.
She leaves the hospitial agaist doctors orders and tries to keep her ministry going.
How can she when she looks like the bride of frankenstein. Throiugh all of this Lucia, helps and feels inferior to all the beauty queen surrounding Sonia.
But Lucia turns out to be the strong one in the end, the one with balanced faith and wisdom.
I really enjoyed this book, i was reading it at a time when i had a personal crisis come to me.
I could so identify with Sonia and Lucia being on both ends of the spectrum of that Toxic faith and real faith.
I recommend this book. You may want to read healing stones first, i was kinda confused about who was Sullivan Crisp and his situation at first.
