1965 was a year unmatched in rock 'n' roll history.
What really happened to the class of '65?
*The quarterback of the football team became a Hollywood masseur
*The gang leader of "The Saracens" built a million-dollar business empire
*The Head Cheerleader became a professor of women's history
*The troubled intellectual re-emerged as a John Bircher running for Congress
These characters are real people and they are members of the same high school class - the class of '65 at Palisades High School in suburban LA.
It was this class that Time magazine selected in January, 1965, as an example of American youth "on the fringe of a golden era." Like most Americans, Time believed that these affluent and sophisticated young people were the vanguard of a new and better age. No one could have foreseen the social and personal upheavals that lay ahead. Photographs from the '65 yearbook and the class reunion.
