Chris Astor is a lonely man. He had a beautiful family, a good job and life was good, even as they struggled with his young daughter Becky's leukemia. But the struggle had a cost; his marriage. Now, he see's his daughter, who has been in remission awhile, sparingly. Since she is a young teenager, she really doesn't want to hang out with ole dad.

But Becky feels that her dad has given up on her; the divorce affected her life too. And she thinks she may be getting sick again too. When she was younger, Chris and her used to spend their time telling about a far away fantasy land, Tamarisk.

When Becky falls asleep one day and wakes up in another world, the world of Tamarisk, she cannot believe it. The land she and her dad created is real, merging with her own. How could that happen?

But it's not all roses and sunshine in Tamarisk. Years ago, there was a blight upon the beautiful land, but it eventually went away. Now, a disease is eating all of the lovely flora, and Queen Miea is really concerned. Will this be the end of their world? Will she be able to find a cure? And will Becky ever return to their world or did she give up on them forever? Queen Miea, Becky and Chris (who is elated to be back in his daughter's life) must find out the secret of why their worlds have collided and their future.

Blue is a compelling fantasy novel that will tug on your heart strings and fill your eyes and heart with wonder. Beautifully written, the worlds just come to life in vivid color in your mind, and the hope and magic will keep you up late into the night turning the pages. Well executed, engaging and with characters you can't help but love, Blue is a must read!! I absolutely loved it!!
