I read this in a single sitting. Compared to the first two volumes, the plot and pace are more interesting. The amount of jokes/puns is balanced with important events and details; the first volume seemed to have more puns than events.

If you've only read the first or second volumes and are thinking of giving up, stick with it! The third volume is enough to redeem what may have been missing in the first two volumes. (And now I'm anxious to get the fourth!)

I only have 2 complaints about the series overall, but they're relatively minor.
1: It's split into 4 volumes/installments. The story would flow better if we could read it in one book. (Especially since I've been waiting so long between getting each volume via swap or amazon.)
2: As has been mentioned over and over again, the artwork on the pages and the cover art are not done by the same artist.
Keep in mind that these minor points don't take away from the story. They're just picky points that other readers may have felt as well.
