As the Raider's team doctor, Huizenga has rare insight on internal operations of one of the most popular pro football teams of all time. The time of the book (1980's) and the changes happening with steroids, football player union growing strength, and the escapades of this wild team make for a fun read.

I was hoping for more dirt to be dished on the behind the scenes stuff. The stories are good, but many of them start out "one all-pro defensive lineman was known to..." Very readable but missing some of the dots connecting scandal to specific players a la "Ball Four" and Jim Bouton. Interesting reading for fans of pro football if your expectations aren't super high. A must read for Raider fans past and present.
