Having finished Courting Miss Lancaster shortly before reading this, this one is as dark as the other is light. Heavier subject matter in this one and while I know it explained much about Catherine I still can't see myself wanting to read this one again. I'm sure it will help to have Philip & Jason introduced if I read more in this series but as it was with Seeking Persephone I found myself reaching a climax in the story only to find the book was over a few pages later. There was nothing wrong with the writing per se, I just have a heavy heart after reading about her uncle and still don't understand what it was about if not the money.
