It started off well enough, very suspenseful, but after a while I lost faith in the author. It didn't sound British. It didn't sound like WW2 era. It was too modern in feeling. There was much period data in the text, but it felt like research, not experience. Eventually I skipped to the end (which was no surprise). I can't really recommend it. Better to read authors who lived during those years and got the ambiance right.
