There was only one thing standing between Carson Mueller and her inheritance and he was carrying a gun. Six feet of pure muscle, he was dangerous, and serious as a hornet being chased from its nest. Carson wasn't quite sure she believed his story about winning her uncle's business in a poker game. But if he continued to fasten that piercing gaze on hers and kiss her into a haze of desire, she might just give in to the temptation of it after all. He wanted to go straight, and he did not intend to let that pert young miss ruin his opportunity to do it. Her too proper convent bred ways irritated him. That flash of fire in her eyes and the pout of her soft lips when she was angry gave Kohl Baron some ideas about how he could keep the business in the family and enjoy the sweet treasures her innocent but willing body had to offer.
