This is the first book I have read by this author and I was truly impressed. Judy's parents were products of the Woodstock era who married at a very young age. Judy's mom realized that she was too young to make such an "adult" commitment and consequently abandons Judy and her Dad. Judy struggles with her mom's abandonment and perpetual disappointments when she would resurface in order to be a part of Judy's life. Her mom's behavior ultimately impacted Judy's behavior and choices throughout the years in which she was growing up. This is a very well written book and I highly recommend it!
