When the pilot of a commercial airliner suffers a fatal heart attack while his co-pilot isout of the cockpit, there is no one to fly the plane. Within minutes the plane crashed into a nuclear power plant in a small Minnesota town. Everyone in the world has turned into their TVs to hear about the catastrophe that might have global implications.

Wow! The suspense started on page one and never let up. People who lived around the power plant had been drilled on what to do in an emergency. But those drills weren't working out as they had planned when a real emergency happened. With no phones, it was hard for the people to coordinate mass evacuations and keep first responders up to date on exactly what was going on. The townspeople pulled together using their ingenuity to work on the problems and save the world.

I enjoyed this story and its non-stop action. In the first half of the story, I thought we could have been told a little more about the many characters that were featured in the story. I had a hard time connecting with some of the people when I knew only their name and their job title. Eventually we learned enough about each person that they became flesh and blood people.

I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Joe Morton. He did a fantastic job building up the tension in the story. My rating: 4 Stars.
