This was my first encounter with the character Tommy Carmelini who is a former jewel thief that was recruited (not willingly) by the CIA as an operative in the middle east. This is also about the emerging nuclear power of Iran and it's wacko president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the global situation he would be entirely capable of creating.

This is a departure from what I am used to reading by Stephen Coonts. My experience has been reading his military aviator books and he does a great job on those, as he should. He is a former naval combat pilot from the Viet Nam era.

The story is one of those save the world types and Mr. Coonts comes up with a new solution that is the kind that will make you stand up and cheer. I have only read one other solution that is similar, which was in The Berkut. If you enjoy a "thriller" kind of book with some new ideas, this one is a winner.
