Battle Scarred and hungry for power Jed Starbuck came through the Civil War with an empty soul. To stave his hungry soul he was determined to carve himself an empire from the wide-open Texas plains. With no boundaries, and thousands of half wild cattle just waiting for a new brand- His brand-The Starbuck Brand. Jed did not care how far he had to bend the law to make himself rich, But Jed had not counted on a vicious vaquero dead set on stopping him. Soon violence spread like a prairie fire.... and the Starbuck brand became the brand of Cain.

This intense Western you will not be able to put down.

I read many westerns and found this one from a generation ago one that still read both smoothly and quickly. Though Mr. Olsen is deceased his many writings on the fictional west are gems that still hold up today, with his being true classics: So if a reader enjoys this one from Theodore V. Olsen, he or she can rest assured that there are many more yet remaining.
