A terrific book, filled with exquisite detail about Ireland and its people in the mid-1800's. The story keeps you reading hours after you need to turn out the light and get to sleep, and you'll remember the characters long after you finish the book.
Beautifully written, heart-felt story.

From the back cover:
Haunted by the terrible secret which haunted his soul, Michael McKevett, the maker of carousels, had sworn on his beloved Irish soil never to give up his dreams. Not the blood on his hands nor the anguish and rage that lived in his heart would stop him.
Even though he had sacrificed everything, lost the woman he loved to another man, Michael was determined to carve his dreams into reality and wrest control of his destiny from those who would destroy him....
CAITLIN O'LEARY--the voluptuous redhead who bore Michael's son and betrayed her heritage with his enemy.
MASON ARMFIELD--the English aristocrat who had the power to end Michael's life with one command.
ANNIE O'BRIEN--the golden-haired beauty who trapped the one man who could never love her into a marriage of hate and destruction.
From the green hills of Ireland to the shores of America, one man pursued his vision of greatness, rebuilding all her had lost into a towering monument to last forever....
