This is a role playing game (using 3 dice) within a book. I tried playing the "game" and died very early in the story several times. I think there is a problem with the combat values. I then decided to just read the story and select decision/combat outcomes. This was not much better as the plot is very weak.

The characters could be interesting in a book with an actual plot. I think I'll limit my role playing to computer games.
