I think this was the first time that I came across a widow heroine who actively explored her sexuality with multiple lovers. Usually, the widow may want to but stops short because she feels guilty or already has strong feelings for someone in particular. Not Pippa. She was intent on having lovers and her liaisons were graphic and erotic. Meanwhile, Everett had a tough job working his way back into her heart. An unusual dynamic that worked for me.
