A classic story of a young man, trying to figure out not only himself, but the world around him. I found this book to be a little bit predictable, and dry at some points, but it was not bad story.
A young boy, who is the son of a pastor who has lost his way, is off to try and save his family financially. he goes to stay with his uncle on a farm, and work to earn his keep, while also in search of a treasure his father had buried as a child. He falls in love with a young girl, and also learns a lot about himself.
Although some points were extremely transparent, I did enjoy this book. It was a nice read on the bus trip I took to NY, but I don't think I would go out of my way to read it again.
