his book was an excellent, inspiring resource to me. It's a series of essays looking at how to achieve intimacy with God, and makes a few excellent points.
- We are only as close to God as we choose to be. This is both very obvious and very subtle - if we do not choose to learn about God and about His ways, how can we grow closer?
- One chapter of the book looks into tithing and other traditions of the Old Testament, which many Christians think we are absolved of the rules contained in the Law because we are saved by grace. It pointed out that as Paul wrote, "We are not freed from God's Law but under Christ's Law." (1 Cor. 9:21, paraphrased by me :-p )
