Pulitzer Prize winning journalist McLeod Dulaney is delighted to be back on the lovely Princeton campus, teaching a writing class. But a dark cloud falls over the ivied halls when college president Melissa Faircloth suddenly goes missing. The administration wants to keep it quiet, especially the provost, who - as the most unpopular man on campus - was about to be fired. And there are others who might have wanted her out of the way, like those who couldn't abide a female Princeton president... and Faircloth's ex-husband, a man devoted to martinis, failure, and making trouble for his former wife. When the president's body is finally discovered - in her private office closet - McLeod must find out who put her on permanent sabbatical.
