Book Review of A Time to Dance, No Time to Weep

A Time to Dance, No Time to Weep

Rumer Godden is one of my favorite authors. Her youngest years were divided between India and England, where she attended a variety of schools. She was briefly at a convent. Back in India, she defied the social taboos of the time and set up a dancing school where she taught Eurasians. She married a stockbroker, had two little girls; her husband left them after her third novel, Black Narcissus, became a huge success. During WWII, she and the girls lived in Kashmir...
This is a gripping book, especially for someone who likes Godden's novels.
