Dear Members,

Perhaps you heard about the recent reduction in postage, across all postal classes? That's right, as of April 10, 2016, your Media Mail package of up to 1 lb that previously cost $2.72 to mail, now costs $2.61!  And for a Media Mail package of between 1 and 2 lbs, the cost went down from $3.22 to $3.09. First Class rates also fell.

Of course, you'll still save a lot if you use Printable Postage to mail -- packages of up to 8 ounces can be mailed First Class for $2.60 (almost a dollar less than the non-Printed Postage cost). So that's good news, all around!

We're also happy to announce the Easter Egg Hunt results. We had a great turnout, and members seemed to be having a lot of fun searching for the egg icons on the site. Our winners were jessicat (the Quick-as-a-Bunny first member to fill her basket) and aliciaaba (randomly selected from among the remaining completed baskets). Each of them got a new book from her Wish List! We enjoyed the Hunt, and we hope you did too. We're planning more games like that in the future, so stay tuned!

Happy Reading,

Richard and
The PaperBackSwap Team

MEMBER OF THE MONTH

(justloux)

Perhaps you don't know Lou; if you are a Data Correction or Image Collection Volunteer, though, you probably do. She's relentless in her pursuit of perfection at PaperBackSwap! If the listing for a book on your Bookshelf or another list suddenly improved, it's a good bet that Lou might have had something to do with it. Her fellow volunteers nominated her to us, and we could not agree more! Lou, the club is much improved for everyone by your contributions, and we're so glad you're here! You are the Member of the Month for April. Congratulations!

If you have any nominations for Member of the Month, submit them to us hereEach month we'll choose the Member of the Month from among the nominations we receive, and that member will get a nifty MoM icon to wear on profile and forum posts with pride. So go for it! Tell us who's helped you in the Forums, who's been a great swapper, who in your opinion is a credit to PBS.  We are keeping a list of all the nominated members. Who knows--one of them might be YOU!

DEAR LIBRARIAN

Dear Librarian -  I'm trying to offer my book directly to a specific PBS Friend. How can I do that? -- Curious in California

Dear Callie,

What a good question! If the book (matching ISBN) is on your friend's Wish List, you can offer your copy directly to her even if she's not #1 in line, as described in the Help doc "Can I post a book directly to someone's Wish List?" in our Help Center. The key thing to remember with that is that you need to click the "Post this Book" button that is on the member's Wish List in order to direct the offer to her.

If you are a Standard member, it's even easier to do this! If the other member is on your Friends list (and has that ISBN on her Wish List), you can type the ISBN into the Post Books page and you will be shown her name on the right side, above the Listing Preview. You can choose right there to post directly to her (or any other wishing Friend) that way.

If the book is not a Wish Listed book, but is available in the club and you have it posted it on your Bookshelf, you can also suggest it to your friend in a Personal Message, using the "Suggest a Book" feature.  If she orders the book by clicking the "order" button in the Suggestion PM, her request will come to you, even if your book is not #1 in line for requests. The Help Center has more information about using the "Suggest a Book" feature.

If the book is available in the club and you've posted it to your Bookshelf, your friend can also request it directly from your Bookshelf, following the instructions in the Help doc "How do I direct my request for a book to a specific member?". The key there is that your friend would need to use the "Order this Book" button that is on your Bookshelf to direct the request to you.
