Dear Members,

We love Spring! It's the perfect time to spruce up the house and yard, clean out clutter (including books you've read that you can post to your Bookshelf!), and to try something new.

So...we have something new for you! We'd like to announce the 2016 PaperBackSwap Easter Egg Hunt! It will start on Monday, March 21st at 10 AM ET, and it will end at midnight (the end of Sunday/beginning of Monday) Monday, March 28th, 2016.

Starting on Monday, March 21st, 2016 at 10 AM ET, there will be 15 Easter Eggs placed on random pages across the site - everyone will be able to collect all 15 eggs. It's easy to play! Just find an egg (it can be anywhere on a page, on any page) and click it to add it to your basket. You can collect up to 3 Eggs per day, each day, and then on Friday the limit will be removed (so people who start late or who can't log in every day will still be able to find all the eggs). After the Hunt is over, a winner will be selected from the baskets that are most-filled , and that person will get a NEW Wish List book. There will also be a Quick-as-a-Bunny prize (of a NEW Wish List book) for the person who gets to the maximum fastest. You can read more about the Hunt here.

The game will begin (the eggs will be waiting for you) on Monday, March 21st after 10 AM ET. When you log in after that time, you will see your first egg at the top of the page:

(the actual eggs you are hunting will vary in size - shown here is the average size)

After you have clicked on that egg at the top of the page to collect it, the Basket (smaller on the site than it is below) will appear at the top of your page, and you can click it whenever you like, to check your progress:

The rest of the eggs will be scattered around the site...look everywhere for them! Remember that if you collect all three eggs for the day, you won't see any more eggs until the next day.

We hope you enjoy the game! May the eggs be always in your favor.

Happy Hunting,

Richard and
The PaperBackSwap Team

Upcoming Local Chapter Meetups:

If you want to be a Local Chapter Leader for PBS, you just need to have a PBS Nickname, a viewable public profile, and enthusiasm! Check the Local Chapter Leaders Forum List of Official Chapters to see if your area already has a local Chapter. If not, and you want to do this, just contact us. There are no formal guidelines for being a Chapter Leader. All of the information is in the Local Chapter Leader Discussion Forum topic. If you are an official Chapter Leader and want us to include your upcoming meetup in the Newsletter, send in a message to us with the date, at least a week before the end of the preceding month.

MEMBER OF THE MONTH

(katzpawz)

Katzpaws has been a member at PaperBackSwap since October 2006 (just past our second birthday!), and she's a dedicated swapper. She was a Tour Guide for almost 9 years, and she helped a lot of other members learn the ropes! She can be as silly as her avatar, and she's just as lovable, according to members. This is what nominators had to say:

"She's very helpful to many members on PBS, a terrific TG and a very loyal PBS member."

"Katzpawz helped me find my way around the site when I joined. She was really patient with me."

"She is so enthusiastic and welcoming!"

Katzpawz, you are the BeezKneez! You are Member of the Month for March. Congratulations!

If you have any nominations for Member of the Month, submit them to us hereYour nomination will not "expire"--anyone you nominate will have a chance at getting Member of the Month if enough nominations accumulate over time. Each month the person who has the most votes accumulated when the Newsletter goes to press gets to be Member of the Month and gets a newsletter mention and a nifty MoM icon to wear on profile and forum posts with pride.  So go for it! Tell us who's helped you in the Forums, who's been a great swapper, who in your opinion is a credit to PBS.  We are keeping a list of all the nominated members.  Who knows--one of them might be YOU!

DEAR LIBRARIAN

Dear Librarian -  A book on my Bookshelf has a red W beside it. Doesn't that mean the book is on a Wish List? Why hasn't it been requested yet?  --Wondering in Warrenton

Dear Tony,

If the W is a PALE red, that indicates that the wish is not totally active -- that the wishing member has her account on hold (and the wish is not set to auto-request), OR she has her account on hold and the wish IS set to auto-request, but she hasn't the credits/funds to request it. When the Vacation Hold (or the individual Wish List Hold) is removed  or she gets credit/Swap Fees to request the book the Wish will become active and your book will be auto-requested or offered to her.
