Laureate Academy is a completely free, college preparatory charter school serving Jefferson Parish, LA. Laureate Academy is open-enrollment and serves students with all abilities. We have a structured environment with high behavioral and academic expectations. With over 190 minutes of literacy instruction daily and an extended school day we focus on ensuring every scholar is on the track to college, beginning in kindergarten.

Currently we have 104 students:enrolled, but plan to have between 110-115 by February.

Laureate Academy serves Jefferson Parish, LA which is directly outside of New Orleans. We primarily serve the West Bank of Jefferson Parish, including Terrytown, Gretna, Harvey, Marrero, Westwego, Waggaman and Avondale.

Anyone in Jefferson Parish is eligible to apply and we are completely free.

Currently we serve grades K-1 and will grow one grade per year until we are fully grown with grades K-8.

Our student population is diverse with the following breakdown: 64.4% African-American, 6.73% Latino, 26.9% Caucasian, and 1.9% Asian.

87% of our students qualify for Free or Reduced Price Lunch
