We hit our Book Credits goal!
As the literacy leader, I see a great deal of opportunity in the students who pass through these hallways. Our students have potential and ability - they just need the opportunity that reading provides. We serve severely low level readers who have little reading engagement. Parents are struggling and more than 93% of our population is severely low income. We are a school that educates approximately 650 students, 92% Hispanic, and 90% free and reduced lunch.
These students do not have enough books to read both in the classroom and out, and it is imperative that we give these students books to get them on the track to literacy and off the prison pipeline!
Thank you for your help with our students!
