Really wanted to read this book. The description sounded so compelling. Even bought it new, so that I could begin reading it right away. Then I began to read it and all I could think was that the author didn't need all the swear words in the story. In fact, it began to bug me so much, I had a hard time staying in the story. Too bad. I really think that if Ms. Thalasinos would have concentrated more on the plot/story line and less on the gratutious bad language, it would've been an joy to read.

this book was good enough for me to get it and finish it. however, i don't remember the plot or characters at all. therefore, i give it 3 and 1/2 stars-- must be good enough to take for a fast summer read, but not memorable.

SPOILER ALERT: don't read this review if you don't want to know how the book ends! First, let me say that I have loved all Sara Donait's books and have looked forward to each in the series. That said I'm upset at the way she just up and ends the series and this particular book. It was almost as if she got tired of writing or of the characters and didn't want to continue with the story anymore. Only gets a couple of stars, because I hoped she would end the series a little better than she did.

As normal for SEP, this is another truly enjoyable and fun read. (I have enjoyed all her books except one.) Thanks to SEP for putting laughter in my life every time I pick up one of her books. And for the most part, keeping the "bad language" to a mininum.

This is the second book in a two book series. The first book is A Garden in Paris. Both books are true to the style that SGW writes and are worth reading. She is my fav in Christian authors.

Good book to supplement the âHow to study your Bibleâ. Or to us just to learn more about the Bible. Like the examples and the text right in the workbook. Makes it easy to study in places other than at a desk.

LOVE this series. If you like long novels that build on one another you will love this series, too. Please help me find another author like Donati and Gabaldon while I wait for the next in those series. Any one have an author to suggest? -goochperson

excellent "little" book. packed with many things to "think on and meditate on". if you want a small book to pack for a summer trip, this is it! it will keep you meditating on God's word. enjoy!

I have never read Tracie Peterson's books before. I started this series because I was unable to locate the last book in another series I was reading. Tracie writes well enough...Her characters are not all that 3 diamentional, but as easy Christian reading goes I will finish this series and will read more of her books sometime in the future.
This one of the series was not what I expected after reading the first two (this is the third in the series). But, it is worth the time to keep up with "Diane" and "Cole". If you enjoy Christian fiction and the West in pioneer days, it is well worth the time to read this series.

If you are looking to really go deep in the Word of God, this is the little book for you! This book is a great companion book to study Habakkuk, a small book of the Old Testament that packs a powerful punch. It was a great way to continue to study the Bible in the precepts manner, during the summer when we were taking a "break" from the more formal precepts upon precepts classes. I would highly reccommend it to anyone with an interest in God's word or who is looking for the answers to questions in their lives.

I don't usually read romance fiction. Having said that, when i picked this book up on the last day of our yearly community booksale, I really didn't expect much. I was surprised to enjoy the fact that this author actually writes a plot line in the first of this series. I really just wanted something to occupy my time on an airplane during travel . Instead I actually got interested in the plot and the characters. So much so, that I ordered the second in the series. (I skipped the 20 or so pages of the sex scene, which did not affect the comprehension of the plot.) This book pleasantly surprised me...
