I HATED the characters in this book. Every.single.one, with the exception of the daughter, Emma. I was super disappointed, because I have loved all of the other McMahon books.

An enjoyable read, though predictable. The plot turns out exactly as you would suspect in the beginning. However, you must remember this was Kristan Higgins' first novel. I enjoyed it.

Slaughter's books are always good; this one lost me in spots, but it all made sense in the end, and was a must for me to read before I read #2 in the series. You cannot help but root for Andy!

Though the book was easy to read, the characters were despicable and very hard to root for. I felt as though I needed a shower when I got done reading it.

I really enjoyed this book. It was very unexpected in how it unfolded, and I love that about a book. The ending is not what one would expect, so sit back, relax and enjoy!

I am a diehard mystery/thriller fan---but this book was a wonderful respite from those. Full of rich characters and a heroine that you love to root for---I just loved this book, and actually MISSED the characters when I finished.

Very well put together story, but it was a little rough for me, as an animal lover, to read. Be prepared for gritty treatment of animals and people, but the story is well worth the read.

Had me at the first page. Author did an amazing job with the whodunit? aspect of the plot, as well as creating engaging characters for which the reader could easily root.
