An excellent book. My children and I read this book to each other. The only negative is that the old english is not used. It made it a little strange to relate to it being in the middle ages.

sweet book for little kids. It is an excellent book to read aloud to your children and grandchildren. It is about a boy out picking berries for his mom and it shows a baby bear doing the same for his mom.

A great book. We listened to it as a family. It is very poignant and it gives alot of things to discuss. I have to disagree with a few reviewers and say that it isn't that violent and the ending isn't in bad taste. I was very pleased that this book doesn't use bad language or bring vivid pictures that would be too tough for younger readers. To be honest, there are worse books about the holocaust that I had to edit for the purpose of my children. This wasn't one of them. Give it a chance. The author discusses all of the reviews he has gotten and plainly says that it isn't a historical fiction but just a novel bringing a different perspective. An excellent book for family reading and discussing.

Not a book for children. Some may disagree but it is my opinion. There are too many adult situations for a younger audience. That said, Miss Yolen brings an intriguing story to paper that comes to a complete ending. I like the way she pulls the story together chapter by chapter, never giving any thing away until necessary.

A great book about a boy on the run to find his father. Bud brings a boyish attitude to his struggle in life after his mother dies. The book is sweet and has a great ending.

Brings out facts about Joshua and his leadership that can be made an example to us today. Not dull or boring in any way. Stuck to the facts and didn't "make" things fit their agenda. This is an excellent book and I recommend that everyone read it.

Such an insight to the life of Chet Bitterman. A man that just wanted to serve the Lord and ending up giving his whole life for Him. This is a wonderful biography because it helps us to find out what happened and brings it to us in a way that makes us feel like we know Chet personally.
I recommend this book to everyone.

I have read many books on how to be a better wife and this is the only one that doesn't make me chaff! Linda puts it all together in a beautiful format that causes you to strife to be a better counterpart!
