I love Shirley Jackson and this book was fantastic. I had read a portion of one chapter as a short story and I am happy there was a whole book to go along with that story.

This was an interesting take on a traditional memoir. Lowry writes short vignettes about different events in her life. It was a quick read and quick enjoyable if you are a fan of Lowry's fiction.

Beverly Cleary was one of my favorite authors when I was a child. I loved reading both of her memoirs (this was the second one). I loved reading about her childhood and I like how she incorporated events from her own life into the lives of her characters.

Massie did a good job telling the story of the last tsar and tsarina of Russia. The book is well-written and is not a "just the facts" telling but it is more of a tragic tale of what happened to the leaders of a nation that were so out of touch with the people of that nation.

I liked the story of Edward, a character who has intrigued me from his appearances in some of the other Anita Blake novels. This was better than a few of the others that came before it in the series.

As with most of Picoult's books, predictable, but an enjoyable vacation read.

This was a lovely story of sisters, who have survived terrible things, who open a restaurant in a small Irish town.

I liked the first book of the series better than this one, but the other books that I have read in the series so far have been pretty good. I can't wait to see what happens next!

I loved this book when I read it for the first time as a child & I loved it reading it again as an adult. It really puts a human face on the after effects of war.

I have read almost every book that Maeve Binchy wrote and this was another well-crafted story about a girl who feels a bit out of place within her own family. Star worries so much about others, that she doesn't really see how that worry doesn't really help any person, including herself. I liked when Star realized that her worrying didn't really help and how she learned to start to focus on her own needs instead of worrying all the time. This is a novella and it was so engaging, that I finished it in just a few hours.

This was an interesting portrait of what happens in the aftermath of war. A well-crafted story that was difficult to put down.
