This is the 2nd book in the Travis series. "Sugar Daddy" was really good and very well written. I enjoyed hearing more about Liberty and Gage in "Blue-Eyed Devil", however, the romance in this book was a little over-the-top for me. "Sugar Daddy" was a bit more classy, while "Blue-Eyed Devil" was kinda trashy. Gonna give book 3 (Smooth Talking Stranger) a try since I already have it but, I like my romance novels more story/plot than sex and romance.

Not the best account of the Salem Witch Trials that I have read. This book came off as very juvenile. The Author's note at the back of the book had a lot of great info!

Left me wishing for more in the series. Really enjoyed this series. Very quick reading. Enjoy this author's writing style.

Read this forever ago, but Nunes is a great author.

Not super impressed. I've got to say, I expected much more out of a book that has sold millions of copies, but it was nothing spectacular. At a short 171 pages it was a quick read. I think it took me an hour or two total. I found myself doing a lot of skimming though. The author tends to go off on tangents (which is bad news for an already short book). Don't be fooled by the way the book pretends to be a true story... it is fiction.

Jack Weyland is a great author for pre-teen and young teenagers. Clean, profanity-free writer!

Certainly not the best read in the series. The bad language in this book was a little over the top for me. The "f" word appeared so many times I lost count. Not appropriate for a YA novel. This book kind of felt like a filler with not a whole lot of important-to-the-series content. This series is quickly loosing its appeal. The plot is just taking too long to get anywhere.

WOW! So glad I decided to read this series. This was action packed... even more so than Hunger Games (bk 1). There were lots of unexpected twists and turns that took me by surprise. My husband has even started reading this series and my son is asking to read them when he finishes the series he is on. Great read!!

Loved this first book in the series. I've actually read of few from later on in the series and decided I should start at the beginning. I love the combination of cooking, mystery, and a little romance that this author throws together.

I think this was my favorite book in the series so far. This had me guessing till the end. I love the relationship that is developing between Goldy and Shultz (the cop). Great food, great mystery!

Best book in the trilogy!! Jack and Daisy are my favorite couple. I really enjoyed their story and totally fell in love with Katie-girl! The author ended the series really well by bumping ahead quite a few years and finishing everyone's story. Looking forward to her next series.

Having now read 3 books in this series I think I have figured out what is bugging me... It's like there are 2 points of view in a lot of areas of the book and I think it is because there are 2 authors. I still dislike the strong language throughout the book, but the plot is decent. Certainly not my favorite vampire series.

It took me a bit to get into this book. (It may have been that I read a historical fiction previous.) Once I got into it though, it was pretty good. Great happy ending. Looking forward to the next one.

This book had mixed reviews, but I decided to give it a try anyway. I'm glad I did, because it was a great read. I think it was kind of a mix between Libba Bray (Gemma Doyle) and Stephenie Meyer (Twilight). It was a quick read even thought it was well over 400 pgs. The author has a great writing style. Without spoiling the book... the only thing I did not like was the relationship between Jace and Clary. It left me wanting at first, but later disgusted.

Once I had read the prologue of this book I was eager to read the rest of this book and the entire series! I love the mental picture the author has drawn in the her descriptions... Everything from the city itself to the people in it are great! There are times you feel like you could be walking through Ember. This is a good read for kids (ages 10-15) too.

What a great book with such a TERRIBLE ending. This book was a pleasant, quick read, but I hated the ending. I am definitely a lover of happy endings and this book was just not that! For Moms of teens, this book gets a bit racier than other books in the series. Overall, I think with a few tweaks on the 3rd book (City of Glass) Miss Clare could've ended the series there. This book was a disappointment for me.
Not sure I am interested in reading 5 & 6 although this one sure leaves you hanging.

BEST BOOK IN THE SERIES SO FAR!! I am wondering where Miss Clare will take it. This book could almost end the series. So glad the whole Jace and Clary bit got worked out. Be ready for a little gore and bloodshed in this one... nothing too extreme though. Great read! Love the happy ending for all the "good guys" in the book.

This may be the most boring book I have ever read. I am all for historical fictions and have read quite a few. I love to learn something and be entertained at the same time. "City of Light" was more like reading a history book with a few very uninteresting characters added. I kept reading, hoping the book would get better. Unfortunately, it did not. There was no climax, no start and end feeling to the book.
My advice? Just pass on this one.

Great series. Each book is kind of similar, but I love each new adventure. Likable characters.
