I love this author so much. His writing is like reading poetry and sucks me right into the world he's writing about. I just can't recommend this book or his other 2-All Over But The Shouting" and "The Prince of Frog Town" enough! Just pick them up and read them. You'll understand.

Bad Bridesmaid: Bachelorette Brawls and Taffeta Tantrums--Tales from the Front Lines
Review Date: 8/17/2023

At the age of 66 I have yet to be a bridesmaid and after reading this book, I now know that I never want to be one. The "Bridezillas" in this book horrified me, I truly felt a kinship with the bridesmaids and never would have taken even a tiny bit of the huge crap they put up with. She sprinkled her own tale of being a "bad bridesmaid" throughout the book which I found endearing since the bride that threw her out of the wedding was so horrible and yet Siri didn't rant and rage about this woman, I felt her hurt more than anything.

The end was great, she told of finally being a "good bridesmaid" to a bride who was an angel and a few other womens stories of their good experiences SO I guess it's isn't all bad. A light and fun read and one I really enjoyed!

This was a very enjoyable read, I bought it thinking it was more about dogs but it is a collection of his writings from his newspaper column. The book touches on many subjects and made me think about some of them in a different light.

This is not the first book I've read by this author, but it just might be the last. Out of the 15 stories in this book, maybe 3 (a big maybe) stood out. I'm a horror/thriller fan and only a few stories struck me as that, the others were so far out there I haven't a clue what they were about. This guys head is seriously messed up and personally I don't care to read about things that are so silly that no one gets them but the author. hard pass here.

Started off somewhat slow but didn't disappoint. I found myself identifying with the author due to my own daughters addiction, knowing someone else felt this way and had the same thoughts was somehow comforting. This story strikes at every parents fears for their child..I highly recommend.

This was my dad's favorite book and is also mine. He let me read it when I was maybe 8 yrs old. I still have that hardback copy. It is a very moving story of an abused and then rescued dog told from his point of view. Very hard hitting book for a child to read and it deeply influenced the way I look at and have treated animals for the rest of my life.

This is an amazing well written book from an amazing author. Very dark and deep subject matter that haunted me from the moment I began reading it. It's obvious she wrote this from her heart and soul and mine goes out to her for having survived such a horrific childhood.
I was especially touched and moved by the ending where she wrote of helping students in her writing class. She has such empathy for others and having none shown to her during her formative years proves that she is not only healing herself but is reaching out in an attempt to help others in whom she recognizes glimpses of herself.
Amazing prose and a way with words unlike any other author I have read. I am a huge fan after reading both her books.

This was such an inspiring book to read. The childhood she endurded made her stronger and shaped who she is today and that says a lot about her! I was horrified that a mother could treat her child in the manner that hers did, I guess what really impressed me was how Sam handled her mother later in life, after she was grown and out of her reach. I must say she is a brave young woman and a true inspiration!! I wish her and her family all the best!

I did enjoy this book BUT I kept waiting for something more to happen. The author gives in-depth descriptions of the tunnels and what he saw there, honestly they put their lives in danger more than once and I kept waiting for something truly bad to happen. A suspenseful account of a world we will hopefully never see or know.

Fast paced page-turner and I loved the way the chapters alternated between past and present. This is the authors first book and I can't wait to see what he writes next!! I actually can't stop thinking about this book, it scared the hell out of me!

I don't know what it was about this book but I had an awful time reading it and keeping up with everyone the author mentioned. To me it was just a mixed up mess of a book and unlike most true crimes I read I just couldn't stay interested in it at all. Just an ok read for me.

Fictionalized account of our governments testing on Bikini Atoll and how they stole the land and displaced people for their own agenda. The more of these books I read the more I distrust my government. This was so wrong to do to such a gentle and peaceful people. They did not deserve to be treated in this manner. This book just broke my heart.

This was very well written and a very interesting case. Another sad story of a successful and beautiful woman who let a worthless liar and manipulator into her life. Terri's search to find her Mom's body was heartbreaking, I'm so glad she got closure.

This was a fast read, I did have trouble keeping track of everyone at first. It amazes me how someone this troubled and mind you, EVIL, could escape notice by the authorities for so long. It scary to know there are people like this walking around out there in the world!!

This was such an interesting book. about people who live in downright unhospitable places and their reasons for doing so. His writing is very descriptive and I felt like I was there right beside him when he investigated these places.
