With this third book in the Inspector Van Veeteren series I am officially hooked. Allowing for a little bit of necessary coincidence and belief-stretching for the sake of the murder mystery, the recurring characters are vibrantly real, flawed people. The ambiance is dark and moody, and the conclusion satisfying.
