Futuristic romance from Imajinn Books. The people of the planet Valtaire are dying out, because thier women rarely birth females, and most women die in childbirth. Abby is called to assist the lead researcher studying this problem. The ship crashes on the way to Valtaire, and her pilot breaks thier society's laws, in order to keep Abby alive. Thus begins the romance between Abby and Traveen. The couple defy the laws of the planet, in order to be together. I found this book to be imaginative, and well written. There is a sequel, and I can't wait to read it. Abby and Traveen build a new life together, but Valtaire still faces extinction. Worth a credit.

The people of the planet Valtaire are dying out, because thier women rarely birth females, and most women die in childbirth. Abby is called to assist the lead researcher studying this problem. The ship crashes on the way to Valtaire, and her pilot breaks thier society's laws of no touching females, in order to keep Abby alive. He is mutalated (his wings) as a punishment and sent to mine crystal in the mines on the moon. He gets raped and beaten by one of the guards sent to the moon as a 'lesson' for beating the Traveen nearly to death. Abby rescues him and they flee to paradise planet where they spend the summer together looking for cure. Before the harsh winter comes Abby figures that Traveen is beamingwith health. They go to another planet to submit their info. Traveen goes 'home' gets arested, discloses the cure: the blood they dring from tame animals is missing crucial components. They must hunt for fresh blood. The king and Traveen's father discloses bloody history, what hapends when hunting wakes up blood lust. The king dies of starvation as he will not eat for his heart broke when his beloved son was proclaimed outlaw. The heir takes over. Abby cames to the planet to rescue her husband. New king playes mind-games with them, In the end Abby and her (5y) dead brothers leave planet with Traveen, his sister and younger brother and his lover. Their world paradice gets colonised, Abby has a non aneemic (non vimpire) winged daughter and the sister strikes it off with the brother. ??!!The animals of the planet forgive Traveen for killing some sort of koala bear when he first learnt how to feed??!! Abby and Traveen build a new life together, but Valtaire still faces extinction. There is a sequel: Winged Darkness

My Thoughts:
Honestly there are a lot of parts that are briliant but a few parts are a little strange.
The story is predictable and the characters go a little flat by the end of the book.
Reads mostly OK.
