An enjoyable stream-of-consciousness book written by the author of "The I Hate To Cook Book." Funny, piquant, full of personal observations reminiscent of Erma Bombeck. Highly recommended.

"As everyone knows" says Peg Bracken" the official stance for thinking long thoughts is at the kitchen sink, looking out the window." And from her new kitchen window, she gazes beyond the far horizon, back to the small Missouri town where she grew up...to the days before quiche and crepes and pizza...when candy bars were a nickel and Halloween was more than "trick or treat". She reminds us what girlhood traumas are like as she recalls her first public speaking engagement (which she escaped by getting her tongue frozen to the barn door lock), or finding our about "sex" in fourth grade (what was the the IT they weren't supposed to do?), or her disastrous piano recital (which left the audience gasping with laughter). This is one of the funniest books I have ever read! Peg Bracken's sense of humor is wonderfully refreshing!
