Patricia Hickman has yet to disappoint me. Her books are well written, interesting and captivating--takes me to the place and time she's writing about. She writes about real emotions, turmoils and struggles we all face as we try to walk the walk--always points to God and gives Him the glory. I loved it so much half way through that I immediately requested the 2nd in the series--Angel of the Outback. It's super too!

A moving, descriptive novel
A family falls on hard times in England, 1786. The story tells of how "criminals" were transported to New South Wales(Australia. The husband, wife, daughter, and others all have their own story in this wonderful read. Their hardships, unbearable losses; the squalor and disease, is all portrayed, yet still, their sense of spirituality provides hope and courage. I look forward to the sequel despite the heartwrenching imagery.
