They found her dead in the strets a retired photojournalist with a camera. The police called it a hit and run accident. But the victim's fromer student, photographer Kay Farrow, was haunted by questions. Why was her mentor walking alone after midnight in the most dangerous street of San Francisco? And stranger still, what about the disturbing images found in the woman's camera?
good, but a little long winded at times.

An excellent mystery and charactor study. I have been wanting to read more about the main charactor since reading The Magician's Tale.
Very enjoyable read.

Another excellent book featuring Kay Farrow, the colorblind and photophobic San Francisco photographer. This author loves San Francisco and his main character, and really knows his photography. The story is compelling, too!
Really awesome story about a photographer who gets trapped in the seedy underworld that she photographs

Crime fiction, with a female doing the hunting.

Murder mystery, set in San Francisco. Themes include photography, San Francisco, guns, aikido, and a strong female heroine. I don't think it's quite as good as the first novel (The Magician's Tale) but it's a great read nevertheless.

This was a decent, kinda run of the mill thriller. I love "The Magician's Tale", the first book in the series, because it really used the color blindness of the protagonist. In "Trick of Light" that focus was gone (perhaps it couldn't be successfully repeated) and we have a decent but pretty forgettable read.

This book is much more to my liking than David Hunt's book "The Magician's Tale". The main character and the setting San Francisco are the same but the story is much less graphic and the climate less twisted.
The plots are well done and interesting.

I have not read this book. It seems to be a murder mystery based on photography
