I have a child with Behavorial Disorders, and this books was a God-send!!!! It is amazing how things begin to turn around. I have learned my job isn't to make her happy, but to prepare her for a healthy life; in return I'm making me happy. What an added plus! Some of the lessons are hard ones to implement, not because of the task but because of parental emotions, but they are worth every ounce of effort you can give. We used the book in family counseling so I had someone to back me up and support me when I did not want to let go of the apron strings, however the change in my child made it all worth while.
I wish all parenting books were written as simply and worked as well!!!!
