I love Hemant Mehta! This guy is my hero! He has such a classy, friendly attitude towards faith. Do not get him mixed up with authors like Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris. Hemant provides constructive criticism of the churches he visits and he has a sense of humor, but he never stoops to being rude or malicious.

In, I Sold My Soul on Ebay, Hemant Mehta gives an eloquent account of his atheism, reviews churches with a fresh perspective, and advises the religous community on how to better reach out to believers and nonbelievers alike. His non-belief is not something that he takes lightly and it shows. This extremely well-written book is a must read for Christians, atheists, and well...everybody. If everyone could express their beliefs with as much compassion and understanding for those on the other end of the spectrum, this world would be a much better place.

When I first ordered this book from this site, I only read the first part of the title. I thought it was another one of those books about the quirky things that people buy and sell on Ebay. When I finally picked it up to read and realized what it was about I was a little disappointed but that didn't last. I've been doing a lot of self-study on religion and this book fit perfectly into what I've been reading. Hemant Mehta does not try and jam his religion (or lack thereof) down your throat. He gives you an honest assessment of what he saw during the church services that he attended, very much constructive criticism. I found the book very enlightening and eye-opening. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone that is a pastor/preacher etc. in a church. He had some very good points about church service and not all of them were bad.

This was a very interesting read. I was surprised to find that it was directed more as a book for Christians to understand how they appear to Non-Christians. I thought it would be more of a commentary on his experience. A very well written book and a must read for Christians. Mehta has much to say that is usefull.
