A classic to be sure. Crying, heartwrenching, gutsy, I cant think of enough adjectives to describe this must read of an epic during the end of World War II. Two families drawn together by their desparate trek to reach safety across Germany. If the Russian Army doesnt kill them, the Germans may. Its written with gritty realism that leaves nothing out about the horror of that war.READ IT.
