I always love Joe Leaphorn/Jim Chee novels and this one is no different. New characters, new loves, and the story told by Leaphorn at his coffee klatch begins the novel and ends the story with all the wrap ups. Previous reviewer stated that Leaphorn's girlfriend went down into the Grand Canyon, it is actually Jim Chee's fiancé Bernie, who went on a school field trip once and wanted to see the canyon again. Good thing too that she was there as she knew what can happen in the canyon when it rains. Good story. 4 Stars..
