Silent Joe is a most unique character that you just beg to see more of. Another great story and many layered "who done it and why novel" by T. Jefferson Parker. I've yet to read a book by Parker that I wouldn't highly recommend. He has a flair for the unusual and a superb talent at character building. A must read!

Silent Joe is an excellent sun-burnt LA noir thriller. Joe is a 24-year-old cop who's dad is killed during a kidnapping transaction. Joe investigates who killed his father and why.

This a very good book, well written from the first page to keep you interested all the way through--don't miss this one.

I just became a TJP fan a few years ago, long after this book was published in 2001, so I am catching up on the older stuff, and SILENT JOE is truly one of Parker's best. The usual memorable characters -- likeable but with human flaws -- and the usual hard-to-put-down story line, but this story has a poignancy to it because of its unusual twist on the classic murder mystery. A most pleasant suspension of disbelief.

Fantastic Read. I didn't want to put it down and was bummed when it came to an end. I don't know if Mr. Parker wrote any other novels about Joe Trona. What a great character. I am a fan of this writer and have read many of his tales. They never disappoint.

Listened to this on a road trip and i loved it. There are 8 tapes and the story is full of suspense. I liked the fact that someone read to me while i cruised down the road. Good novel on tape.

not as good as "the fallen" but a very interesting back story of the "acid baby" many of us remember from the news. his dad threw acid in his face during a fight with his mom. it's also very fun for me to read this author because every street and town and locale he describes is SO familiar to me. i've never had that happen in a book before. I live right in the middle of this story. it's a good beach or plane read. nothing serious. light reading

With the horrible remnants of a childhood tragedy forever visible across his otherwise handsome face, Joe Trona is scarred in more ways than one. Rescued from an orphanage by Will Trona, a charismatic politician who sensed his dark potential, Joe is swept into the maelstrom of influence and intimidation that surrounds his adoptive father's illustrious career. When Will is murdered, Joe will stop at nothing to find out who did it.
