"In late 2009, CIA officers in Afghanistans Kabul station allowed a Jordanian doctor into their closest confidence. In truth, the doctor was an al-Qaeda double agentand when he blew himself up, the stations most senior officers died with him.

Years later, the station still hasnt recovered. Recruiting has dried up and the agencys best Afghani sources are being eliminated. At Langley, the CIAs chiefs begin to suspect the worst: somehow, the Taliban has infiltrated the station.

When they ask John Wells to investigate, he reluctantly agrees to return to the country where his career began. One thing is certain: Americans are dying, and an American is responsible. Wells is the only one who can unearth the truthif it doesnt bury him first . . ."

This is not a book I would normally read but, once I got started I just couldn't put it down! From page one on it's just action, mystery, suspense and even thrills! It makes you think a lot - how do you explain wars that will just never end....why do we sacrifice our boys/girls over there and except for their pride of being Americans - why do they stay. I would recommend this book to any adult, was most interesting and well worth reading! I also have to go check out Alex Berenson, as I have never heard of him and look for more of his books to read!

Secret Agents and Intrigue! Tense! Great read! John Wells is called upon again to defend his country's interests and prevent more loss of life by mindless fanatics and terrorists. This time the bad guys are within the ranks.
