Well-written and quietly disturbing book. None of the characters are especially likeable, but they stay with you long after you finish reading, as do the intensely claustrophobic atmosphere and toxic relationships.

I actually found the chapters written from the POV of Bridget, the Bordens' Irish maid, offensive. Dick van Dyke could have done a better job conveying an Irish accent.

What a quietly, insidiously, disturbing re-telling of the Lizzie Borden story. Well done. Well written. I read it in a couple of sittings and it's still living inside me. Absolutely worthwhile read.

Interesting re-imagining of the murder of Lizzie Borden's parents.
