I ordered this as an add on when one of our comrades offered a wish listed book. It is a much better book than I expected, given the rather stupid cover. The compilers live in LA County and so many of the hundred sad stories by people who are wiser now come from here.
Riding the bus, I opened the book randomly and first read:
"I was looking for someone to rent my spare bedroom when qan old childhood friend, Troy, suddenly moved bacck from Hawaii to southern California to start a business in Los Angeles. All I really knew about Troy was what a mutual friend had told me: he was a successful loan officer and wouldn't likely flake out on the rent. Well not long after Troy moved in he became really emotional. He';d come home at night, sit in his room for a couple of hours and then come into my room and cry, in between sobs telling me how beautiful I was and how lucky he was to be living with me. Then he'd often go into the bathroom and vomit (98)." This tale continues but the first two paragraphs offer a sample of these cautionary tales. The book lives up to the authors' promise that "And you thought living with your parents was bad (2)."
