What has happened to James Patterson? He outlines the stories but lets the co-writer write the book? Not a good choice

This is not a 'full' book but 3 short stories with the same cast of people--the main character 'Mitchum' (last name) failed to get into the Navy Seals because he couldn't swim very well (huh?) so when he goes home he is a paper delivery guy driving a crappy car but he also is an unofficial PI (not licensed and doesn't usually get paid anything), this character reminds me of Rocky Balboa in the first Rocky movie, just a lumbering unintelligent oaf

1. Hidden--this introduces the characters but it is flat and borders on boring (most interesting part is the mom with an iron skillet)
2. Malicious--this was a little better story but it doesn't have any 'thrill' factor to it, it did keep my attention but it's just another mild storyline
3. Malevolent--this one was just a boring mess for me and I didn't finish it, when it got to the point that he joins a company so he can travel to Afganistan just so he can try to find the guy that tried to kill him and his family I just lost interest

I will say if you want a 'mild' read you might like it, it has very little foul language, no sex, but a lot of fight scenes that drag out too long

Good Luck!
